Is anyone out there?

This is the time of year when I like to take a good look at what I am doing in my job and begin picking out the good and the not so good. Right now, I am getting some positive feedback about the Ram PE newsletter that I have been putting together this year. Now I am real curious as to what people are thinking about our PE blog. I meant for the blog to be a place where parents and I could communicate about the PE program at Ridgecrest and together we could build a stronger program. So my question is out there...is anyone listening? What would you like to see in the RAM PE Blog? What useful information would you like to get about your son or daughters PE classes? What could make this experiment more meaningful for you?

Please post any and all ideas. Or at least just say hello...I am listening.

Thanks,

Allyn Woods

Hi Mr. Woods,
I just went to my first baseball meeting/practice tonight.

I would like to see more team games and activities like capture the flag and the knot, or anything else you can come up with.

I am also a PE teacher and follow your blog, so I am listening.

Good to see that there are a couple of people out there checking this blog out. Thanks for support! It gives me a bit more motivation to continue this experiment.

I'm a PE teacher who has read your blog a few times. I say keep it going. Your parents will slowly catch on that this is a great place to stay connected with what their children are doing at school. Keep sending reminders to your parents, if you can, that you have a new post. I have many parents that follow my blog, but the only reason I know they do is because they tell me in the hall... not too many comments left. One of my professional goals for next year is to get my 3rd and 4th grade students more involved in commenting on my blog or possibly doing some posts themselves. Let me know if you have any tips for me. I think it might take a few years to catch on, but doing a blog for you class is going to become more and more popular I believe!

I currently work for a Parks and Recreation Department and will be doing my student teaching next spring. I have had several assignments that I am required to find a PE teachers classroom page or blog. You would not believe the trouble I have had! I say keep it going! What a great resource for parents and the community to stay in touch and involved. Also for future educators like me!
